Rio de Janero

Rio is a warmblood stallion of Holsteiner breeding and was bred by IHB in Victoria and purchased by Linda Shore as a yearling to be a future stallion that would suit the Northern Classic bred brood mares.  This has certainly proven a fabulous cross over the years, even tho we did not breed a large number of foals by him.

At the beginning of 2025, the age of 22 years, he still looks stunning and would pass for a horse at least 10 years his junior.  His temperment is superb and is definitely a horse that we take many people to meet when they tour the property as he really enjoys interacting with visitors.

He is still very fertile in the breeding area and can be offers for live cover or chilled semen services.
