RanchBoss Cortez

RanchBoss Cortez was imported from the USA in 2006 by Greg and Kathy Lyons of Wilga Park Morgan stud.  Greg and Kathy then engaged the services of Linda Shore to assist with training and competing Cortez in dressage and breed shows to promote and showcase this amazing horse.  He was the first Buckskin Morgan stallion in Australia at the time.

Cortez went on to win many Morgan horse and Dilute (Buckskin) champion and supreme champion awards in the show ring both in-hand and under saddle.  He also competed in dressage up to Medium level with Linda as well as giving many bridleless dressage demonstrations with Linda to promote the Morgan Horse in Queensland.

In 2021 Greg and Kathy Lyons closed down their stud to retire and Cortez was purchased by Linda Shore.  Despite Cortez having been retired from competition and general rider for more than 5 years at this time, Linda brought his back into ridden work and training and proceeded to compete him in Working Equitation which he proved to excel.

2024 saw Cortez, at the amazing age of 25 years, complete his final competition under saddle with Linda at the 2024 Australian National Working Equitation Championships at Tamworth in November 2024.  Achieve 3rd overall in the first WAWE International Qualifier for Australia and Reserve Champion Consagrados 1.

Cortez is currently available to outside mares at stud for chilled and frozen AI.
